August 4, 2006:  Located in Williston, North Dakota

Rode the 45 miles into Williston in pretty good time, despite more slight headwinds. Today was very hilly again, so all those dreams of reaching flat North Dakota were slightly off.  We did manage to get a photo of Hwy 2 mileage marker #667 right before we crossed into North Dakota.  Feels good to finally enter a new state after what seems like an eternity in Montana.

Headed to the bike shop which doubles as a hardware store right away to further assess The Badger's front wheel issue. Of course, right on cue, we could not duplicate the noise for the repair guy, so he just greased the bearings in the front hub, which seemed to help.

We hit the Williston Trifecta after lunch when we learned the library, campground, and ND State American Legion tournament are all at essentially the same location! Maybe we'll catch the night game tonight after having an early dinner with Jackie. Tomorrow is a full rest day and we're looking into the possibility of staying on Hwy 2 all the way to Minot, rather than following the Adventure Cycling route that takes us by Lake Sakakawea.  More on that maybe tomorrow.

Today's Prius count = 0.

Did You Know?  Some studies have shown as much as a five-fold increased risk in the development of intestinal cancer in people with IBD compared to the general population. Colonoscopies remain the best means for detecting early, curable cancer.
