August 4, 2006:  Dinner in Williston, North Dakota

Dinner last night was such a treat! We met Jackie and her two youngest children, Jerrica and Christian, who so kindly made a two-hour trek to Williston for dinner at Ginger's, along with Jerrica's "super" friend, Lillie. Jerrica and Christian both suffer from Crohn's, but they are a courageous couple of kids who don't let their disease slow them down. They are active in school and at home on the ranch.

We've added "Napolean Dynamite" to our must-see movie list and will seek out more horses to photograph during our ride. Thanks so much, Jackie, for making the drive up for a visit -- and thanks so much, too, for treating us to dinner! Meeting you and two of your children was so inspirational and definitely a highlight of our trip!

Did You Know?  Some studies have shown as much as a five-fold increased risk in the development of intestinal cancer in people with IBD compared to the general population. Colonoscopies remain the best means for detecting early, curable cancer.
