August 7, 2006:  Dakotas / Minnesota Ride Dedication

As we recently entered North Dakota, which is part of CCFA's Minnesota/Dakotas Chapter area, we would like to dedicate this portion and the entire Minnesota leg to our friend Roger Andal, who passed away earlier this summer from surgical complications to relieve his Crohn's Disease. Crohn's and ulcerative colitis aren't typically life-threatening diseases, but complications can arise anytime surgery is required. Roger was a great man and friend of all, especially those of us who suffer from IBD, and is already greatly missed. Please join us in fondly remembering Roger for the great friend he was and support CCFA's drive to fund research to find a cure for IBD.

Did You Know?  Some studies have shown as much as a five-fold increased risk in the development of intestinal cancer in people with IBD compared to the general population. Colonoscopies remain the best means for detecting early, curable cancer.
