34 miles under overcast skies and lighter winds today into Fargo. This is the
biggest city by far that we've been through and we're hoping the drivers are
more bike-friendly than in Minot.
I'm not sure what sweated more last night, the tent or me, but it was pretty
miserable when we woke up. The rest day will be an opportunity to dry things out
and catch up on our sleep. We owe Moxie Java bigtime for allowing us the
opportunity to blog without restrictions in their nice little coffee shop.
While crossing the street we ran into Cassandra who lives in Mpls and had a nice
chat about bicycle touring and all sorts of things. She's a massage therapist
and gave us her card for when we pass through home - we might need to take her
up on a massage if these winds keep up for the next 5 days. She also gave us
several dining options for while we're here in Fargo. My (Sam's) parents and
brother will arrive here today and tomorrow, so we're really looking forward to
seeing them and having my brother ride with us on Sunday. He promises that he'll
be towing his dog, Conrad, in his Bob trailer, so we should have a fun ride with
them!
Special thanks go out today to Tim Blank for securing us a free night's lodging
at the AmericInn! Another big thanks to Steve and QBP for the re-supply they
sent to Island Park Cycles - we ate our last goodies today, so the timing is
perfect! Oh, and Patrick...sorry that my Royals were so pathetic against the
Twinkies and then dominant against your Red Sox. How's Kyle Snyder working out
for you?
Priuses = 0 (North Dakota apparently likes gas-guzzlers).
