August 18 & 19, 2006:  Located in Little Minneapolis, Minnesota

Two much-needed rest days in Mpls that turned out to be very busy with errands and seeing as many friends as possible. Last night we had a wonderful time at dinner with Steve and Mary and even got to see their Prius up close. We feel so fortunate to have their support and friendship and enthusiasm for what we're trying to accomplish! We nightcapped at Town Hall Brewery with Jen & Eric and can happily say the IPA was every bit as good as I remembered. Mpls was very good for the Prius count: a total of 20 in 2+ days!

We both visited work or co-workers on Friday morning and it was nice to see so many friendly faces all at once. It didn't appear that anyone had permanently moved into our cubicles, so we have that going for us, which is nice! Friday was also a day for me to work on the bikes to get them ready for the 2nd half...rotate the tires, clean the chains, etc. Tim, Courtney and son Henry swung by on Friday evening for a nice chat over dinner and we were thrilled to get to see them since they were heading out of town on Saturday.

Jenny and Eric also hosted a small gathering of close friends at Barley John's where the bitter was excellent. So nice of people to show up on such a beautiful day to wish us well and celebrate the approximate halfway mark. Thanks also to all who bought auction items or made direct donations - we're nearly $1,000 closer to our goal thanks to you! Saturday wrapped up with getting to see Susan, Chris, Quinn, Zachary, Steven, Candace, Connor, and Annika for both dinner and Sebastian Joe's ice cream.  A heartfelt thanks go to you all for making the time for us and for letting us freeload!

Priuses = 11

  Did You Know?  Some studies have shown as much as a five-fold increased risk in the development of intestinal cancer in people with IBD compared to the general population. Colonoscopies remain the best means for detecting early, curable cancer.
