September 4, 2006:  Located in Ashtabula, Ohio

86 miles from Cleveland to beyond Ashtabula. Light winds and mostly sunny skies sent us off this morning on a mostly urban cycling day. Got some good photos of Lake Erie, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and Browns Stadium before fighting our way through the crowd descending on downtown for another day of the Cleveland air show.

Hit Dunkin' Donuts for the first (and hopefully not last) time. We have found that it doesn't really matter what we fill our tanks with, just that we fill them often, so the donuts really hit the spot. Mid-afternoon we rode through Geneva-on-the-Lake and witnessed a frenzy of carnival games, putt-putt golf, and overeating that really closed out the Labor Day holiday in fine fashion. Couldn't believe how many people were milking it right up the end before going back to the old grind.

We've arranged to stay with the executive director of CCFA's Buffalo chapter on Wed and Thurs and will have all sorts of things to take care of while in town. Rest assured, more stuff will be mailed back home to make sure we are light for the upcoming mountains. Also had my 2nd flat of the trip today thanks to a rusty nail that left its mark. The entire affair only took about 10 minutes this time, as the tires have stretched out a bit.

Since the weather was good, we camped tonight and had the place mostly to ourselves. Nice to be back in the tent!

Did You Know?  Some studies have shown as much as a five-fold increased risk in the development of intestinal cancer in people with IBD compared to the general population. Colonoscopies remain the best means for detecting early, curable cancer.
