September 11, 2006:  Located in Inlet, New York

90 miles from Pulaski to Inlet. Out the door at 7:00 to temps in the upper 40's and slight easterly wind. Had lots of short, steep hills in the first 25 miles and it had us very nervous about making it to at least Old Forge today. Even had some 10-12% (estimated) hills that forced us onto the small chainring much earlier than we had expected!

We stopped at a library outside Boonville around the halfway mark and started chatting with some ladies there, one of whom turned out to be a fellow USD grad from '92. Her husband was on the football team and the name's familiar so I'll have to look them up sometime. Yet another weird coincidence. Stopped at the Petals & Pedals bike shop in Inlet to chat and purchase a few more nutritional items. The owner was very friendly and gave us some nice tips on where to stay and eat while in town.

Lately we seem to be more just tired of being on the bikes at the end of the day rather than completely exhausted from the ride. Hope that means we're in pretty good shape since we have more mountains coming up! Temps today never got above 67 degrees and tomorrow should be very similar. The leaves are turning already here in the Adirondacks which means the days are getting much shorter and it's harder to get our miles in.

Fell asleep to the Raiders getting demolished by the Chargers - sorry Tim!

Priuses = 1.

  Did You Know?  Some studies have shown as much as a five-fold increased risk in the development of intestinal cancer in people with IBD compared to the general population. Colonoscopies remain the best means for detecting early, curable cancer.
